Born in Philadelphia on April 3, 1926, Brady served in the U.S. Navy for the duration of Earth War II and earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Fordham University in 1948.

He began his career as a police reporter for the Extended Department Each day Record in New Jersey, then worked for Forbes and Barron’s publications before serving as the editor of Dun’s Overview, a publication of Dun and Bradstreet, setting up in 1961.

In 1972, Brady joined CBS in New York at Newsradio 880 even though still at Dun’s Overview. He moved to WCBS-Television as organization editor in 1976 and was hired as a correspondent for the CBS Early morning Information a 12 months later on.
